Wausau Area Pickleball Ladder League

(No leagues scheduled at the time, check back for future opportunities)

What is a Pickleball Ladder League?

The format of play is designed so that players play mostly with others of similar skill levels. Your ranking on a ladder is based upon the points you score in each match. Players will move up or down the ladder based upon their points.

Ladder Details:

  • All matches are played outdoors at Marathon Park’s courts.

  • To start, all players are placed on the ladder randomly.

  • Players will play competitive matches where you have the opportunity to move up or down courts to establish your ladder position.

  • Each match is played to 11 points win by 1. All players will play three doubles games in a round.

  • Each round consists of one game with each of the other three players in your group of four. After each round, the two players in the group with the most total points scored will move up. The two players with the fewest total points scored will move down.

  • After the first round scores are tallied, the positions on the ladder are calculated and a second round is played. Each league day has 6 games (2 rounds of 3 games).

  • If a player is unable to play, let the coordinator know as soon as possible. The coordinator may find a sub or adjust the number of matches, depending on the number of players that week.

  • Min. 16 players, Max of 20 Players.
